Encampment Commander: Lt Col James Peace Tactical Officers
Executive Officer: Now Accepting Applications The Encampment Executive Officer assists the commander in the administration of the encampment. The executive officer relieves the commander of supervisory details and performs duties assigned by the commander. The principal responsibilities of the executive officer are: •The proper administration of the encampment and it’s personnel to include supervision of: Personnel Authorizations, Military Support Authorizations, and other administrative requirements deemed necessary by the commander. •The efficient operation of the encampment, to include supervision of: communications, transportation, tours, and military sponsored activities, and other operational responsibilities deemed necessary by the commander. •In consultation with the Cadet Group Commander, selection of the Cadet Executive Officer for the encampment. •To this end, the executive officer will select, organize and supervise a headquarters staff to accomplish these duties.Commandant of Cadets: Now Accepting Applications The CAP encampment commandant of cadets implements, controls, and evaluates training activities for cadets. Principle Responsibilities •Implementation of the encampment curriculum prescribed by National Headquarters. Reference CAPR 52-16. •Selection of the encampment Tactical Staff to include the Chief Tactical Officer, Senior Tactical Officers, Tactical Officers and Assistant Tactical Officers. •In consultation with the Cadet Group Commander, selection of the Cadet Deputy Commander and any other positions deemed necessary for the encampment. •Coordination with the encampment staff, the preparation of standing operating instructions to accomplish cadet training. •Organizing cadet activities not prescribed by National Headquarters. •Supervising and exercising management control over subordinate staff officers.Public Affairs: Now Accepting Applications This staff position reports directly to the XO. This person is in charge of working with the media. They publish the encampment newsletter and take care of all pictures. They are also in-charge of the encampment slide show. They need a working knowledge of computers and digital editing software. This is a highly technical position and one that will involve working with computers and digital cameras. This position will have cadet staff reporting directly to them. Chaplin: Now Accepting Applications This staff positions reports directly to the Encampment Commander. The Chaplin is responsible for conducting two moral leadership activities during encampment. They will also provide a non-denominational worship service that CAP members may attend. The Chaplin is also requested to provide spiritual and emotional guidance to all CAP members attending this activity. The chaplin will be involved with major discipline issues and will provide guidance and assistance to parties involved. Senior Tactical Officer: Now Accepting Applications This person answers directly to the XO. They are responsible for overseeing all TAC Officers and activities with the squadrons. This person acts as an interim TAC Officer if there is a need. They are also involved with making recommendations for change to the Commandant of Cadets. All recommendations from TAC Officers should go through the Senior TAC unless they are safety concerns. Tactical Officer: Now Accepting Applications These people answer directly to the Senior TAC Officer. They are responsible for a flight of 12-15 cadets. They are advisors to the Flight Commanders and Sergeants. They are not drill instructors or there to march the flight. Their job is to watch moral, look for safety issues, and motivate the flight to keep working throughout encampment. It is a requirement for TAC Officers to be with their flights 75% of the time. Cadet Staff does not report directly to this position. They are advisors and should limit their involvement to this capacity. Medical Officer: Now Accepting Applications This position answers directly to the Encampment Commander. One must meet requirements prescribed by CAP Regulations for encampment. The alternate medical officer should be an EMT or higher. They are to be on call 24 hours and be available in case of an emergency. They are to monitor the safety situation at encampment and make recommendations for immediate changes directly to the commander. Finance and Administration Officer: Now Accepting Applications Answers directly to XO. These people will be in-charge of making sure all cadets have paid the encampment fee and get assigned to their correct flight. They will be a major part of in-processing. They will have the freedom to assign people to flights so the flights balance out. They will turn in all of this information to the XO and make sure the cadets who have not paid are contacted and the cadets turn in their final payments. The encampment will be using financial software to record all of this information. These positions will have cadet staff report directly to them. Logistics and Communication: Now Accepting Applications Answers directly to XO. These people are in-charge of all equipment checked out from the guard. They are there to make sure we have all supplies we need. They also monitor the vehicles. They make sure vehicle reports are filled out and signed on a daily basis. They report any vehicle maintenance issues directly to the XO. They are also responsible to know where every corporate vehicle is and who has it assigned to them. The encampment will be using an inventory tracking system to record where equipment is at and who has it signed out. They are also in charge of the communication equipment and being sure all radios are signed in and out on the inventory tracking system at encampment. These positions will have cadet staff report directly to them. |
